Feng, 24, and Butler, 22, successfully defended their singles titles at the U.S. table tennis championships. Feng, the top women's seed, who was a member of the Chinese national team in 1990 before she emigrated, beat Lily Yip of Metuchen, N.J., in the finals (21-15, 4-21, 21-12, 17-21 and 21-16) for the second time in two years. She also teamed with Yip to win the women's doubles and with Dave Zhuang of East Brunswick, N.J., for the mixed doubles crown. Butler, the No. 2 seed, upset Zhuang, the top-seeded man, 21-19, 11-21, 21-14 and 21-19 for his third singles title in four years. It was the second straight year that Butler beat Zhuang for the title.
Harry Drazin
INTERLAKEN, N.J.
Drazin, 80, won the national 80-84 age-group championship for the 40-km race-walk in a U.S. age-group record time of 6:19.20. He has also race-walked three New York City Marathons and holds the American 25-, 30-and 40-km race-walk marks for the 75-79 age group.
Marc Weekly
TACOMA, WASH.
Weekly, a senior quarterback at Pacific Lutheran, led the Lutes to a 50-20 defeat of Westminster (Pa.) College in the NAIA Division II title game by passing for 441 yards and four touchdowns. In his four seasons at Pacific Lutheran, he threw for 113 TDs and ran for 30, a collegiate touchdown record.
Gina Ketelhohn
BROWN DEER, WIS.
Gina, a sophomore at Brown Deer High, capped an undefeated season by winning her second consecutive Division 2 state diving title. Her total of 449.60 points was the sixth-highest in the history of the state championship meet and broke the Division 2 record she had set as a freshman.
Larry Bercutt
BEVERLY HILLS
Bercutt, 21, a water polo goalie and biology major at Stanford, had six saves in an 11-9 victory over USC to lead the Cardinal to its first NCAA water polo title since 1986. He was named co-MVP of the tournament after getting 19 saves in three games. He is a member of the U.S. men's water polo team.
