Flora, a 17-year-old junior at Hardin High, and Dustin, a 17-year-old senior at Browning High, each won a Class A state cross-country championship. Flora, a member of the Crow tribe, earned her third girls' state title in three years, covering the three-mile course in 17:47. She also finished fourth among junior women at the national cross-country championship. Dustin, of the Blackfeet tribe, ran the same course in 15:22 to earn the boys' crown. At the previous three state meets he finished sixth, third and second, respectively. Both runners run nationally for Wings of the Northern Plains, a Native American youth development program.

Matt Jordan
DERRY.N.H.
Matt, a senior at Pinkerton Academy, ran for 108 yards and one touchdown to lead the Astros to a 21-0 defeat of Londonderry High and their third Division I state title in three years. Jordan had 1,719 yards and 38 TDs rushing this season and set state career marks for yards (4,087) and touchdowns (76).

Madelyn Chiomento
WOODBURY, N.J.
Chiomento, 73, coached the Pitman High field hockey team to a 4-0 defeat of Glassboro High for her 400th win, the U.S. high school record in her sport. The Panthers' 19-0-2 record this season gave Chiomento her 35th winning season in a row and her fifth without a loss. Her 40-year record is 410-105-88.

John Part
OSHAWA, ONT.
Part, 27, a part-time office manager, beat Bobby (Mr. Glitter) George of London, England, 6-0 in the final match to become the first non-Briton to win the British Darts Organisation world championship. During the five best-of-11-sets matches he played in the tournament, Part lost only one set.

Tim Morphy
ST. THOMAS, ONT.
Tim, 13, won the World Karting Association Yamaha junior class title and finished third in the Yamaha restricted class in his first year on the WKA circuit. He is the first Canadian to become the WKA junior champion. In 1988 he won the national novice class, the first of his five Canadian titles.
