Dr. Z's Draft Forecast

1. BENGALS (or Patriots in trade) Dan Wilkinson, DT, OHIO STATE
Pat coach Bill Parcells offering the store to move up, but Bengals might keep the pick.

2. COLTS Marshall Faulk, RB, SAN DIEGO STATE
Everyone figured a QB here, but Faulk's 4.34 40 pushes him way up.

3. REDSKINS Heath Shuler, QB, TENNESSEE
Edges Trent Dilfer on athletic ability. Skins must take a QB.

4. PATRIOTS (or Bengals in trade) Willie McGinest, LB-DE, SOUTHERN CAL
Pats will go for the outside pass rusher. Cincy might grab CB Aaron Glenn.

5. RAMS Trent Dilfer, QB, FRESNO STATE
Rams will move down, but not if this 6'3", 228-pound package drops in their lap.

6. BUCCANEERS Bernard Williams, T, GEORGIA
A raw 6'8½", 313-pounder with unlimited potential.

7. COLTS (from Falcons) Antonio Langham, CB, ALABAMA
By a whisker over Glenn. His 40 time scares some, but he's a gifted coverage man.

8. SEAHAWKS Bryant Young, DE-DT, NOTRE DAME
Texas A&M DE Sam Adams a possibility. Cortez Kennedy needs help on the front line.

9. BROWNS John Thierry, LB, ALCORN STATE
Tremendously gifted athlete who will eventually fill the Clay Matthews spot.

10. CARDINALS Sam Adams, DE-DT, TEXAS A&M
D-line is always Buddy Ryan's priority. If Bryant Young is available, Ryan'll take him.

11. BEARS LeShon Johnson, RB, NORTHERN ILLINOIS
Coach Dave Wannstedt's favorite, though Bears could grab an offensive lineman.

12. SAINTS Aaron Glenn, CB, TEXAS A&M
Saints like bigger corners, but 184-pounder's speed makes him a valuable return man.

13. JETS Charles Johnson, WR, COLORADO
Highest-rated receiver on the board. Boomer Esiason is looking for downfield targets.

14. EAGLES Wayne Gandy, T, AUBURN
A natural left tackle, and those guys are at a premium in the NFL.

15. 49ERS (from Chargers) Trev Alberts, LB, NEBRASKA
Relentless pass rusher. Niners have been seeking one ever since they lost Charles Haley.

16. DOLPHINS Aaron Taylor, T-G, NOTRE DAME
Miami would prefer defense, but Taylor offers quality not usually found this far down.

17. STEELERS William Floyd, FB, FLORIDA STATE
Talented big back who will fit into Steeler scheme and cover for the loss of Merrill Hoge.

18. VIKINGS (from Broncos) Darnay Scott, WR, SAN DIEGO STATE
Speedy, fluid receiver who will take over for Anthony Carter.

19. VIKINGS Tre Johnson, T-G, TEMPLE
It's an offensive draft for the Vikes and new QB Warren Moon.

20. PACKERS Johnnie Morton, WR, SOUTHERN CAL
Highly productive 6', 190-pounder to take some heat off Sterling Sharpe.

21. LIONS Dewayne Washington, CB, NORTH CAROLINA STATE
Loss of Ray Crockett must be addressed. Washington's a solid coverage guy.

22. RAIDERS Mario Bates, RB, ARIZONA STATE
Running game was nowhere in '93. Bates, who runs a 4.4, wowed 'em at the combines.

23. 49ERS Todd Steussie, T-G, CALIFORNIA
Not an area of great need, but this hardworking 315-pounder provides valuable depth.

24. GIANTS Derrick Alexander, WR, MICHIGAN
Club has been looking for a star at this position ever since the days of Del Shofner.

25. CHIEFS David Palmer, RB-WR, ALABAMA
Joe Montana will love this little guy, who did everything for the Tide.

26. OILERS Isaac Davis, G, ARKANSAS
Mike Munchak has retired. Doug Dawson has a bad back. O-line help a must.

27. BILLS Joe Johnson, DE, LOUISVILLE
Bills need depth at the position. But they could go wideout with Carolina's Bucky Brooks.

28. COWBOYS Jamir Miller, LB, UCLA
Gifted pass rusher with a great burst. Charles Haley's back ailments a concern.

29. EAGLES (if awarded extra pick) Greg Hill, RB, TEXAS A&M
To provide zip in a somewhat stodgy running game.
