Marja Sweet
NORTON, MASS.
Marja, 3, the youngest athlete competing in the AAU, won the national step aerobics championship in doubles (1½ exhibition division) with her 37-year-old mother, Julie. Their performance qualified them to compete in the world aerobics championships in Pretoria, South Africa.

Thomas F. Levak
PORTLAND, ORE.
Levak, 55, a labor arbitrator and mediator, won the age 45-and-over black belt sparring division at the U.S.A. National Karate Do Championships to earn his fifth U.S. masters title. Earlier, at the Oregon championships, Levak won the men's black belt sparring division for ages 18 and over.

Becky Ruehl
LAKESIDE PARK, KY.
Becky, 16, won the women's 10-meter platform title at the national diving championships, defeating defending titlist and 1992 Olympic bronze medalist Mary Ellen Clark. The week before, Becky won the 10-meter platform at the U.S. Junior Olympics.

Michael Hastings
SPOKANE
Michael, 13, beat Jeff Bishop, 15, 2 up to become the youngest competitor to win the Pacific Northwest Golf Association boys' amateur championship. Last year Michael won the 11-12 division at the junior worlds with course- and tournament-records of five and 10 under par, respectively.

Tracy Proietti
MERCED, CALIF.
Proietti, 20, led the Modesto-Stanislaus junior (20-and-under) and senior water polo teams to victory at the women's nationals. On the junior team Proietti scored 21 times—including nine goals in the final—in five games, and in the senior competition she scored 17 times in five contests.

Randall Copp
CUMBERLAND, MAINE
Randall, 16, won the world junior outdoor archery championship by scoring 111 out of a possible 120 points to defeat David Doyle of Buffalo by two points. Earlier, at the Howell's New England Classic indoor meet, Randall shot a perfect 600 for the win.
