Michael Messere
SYRACUSE, N.Y.
Messere, 51, the lacrosse coach at West Genesee High, was inducted into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame. In his 19 years with the Wildcats he has won eight state titles and has a record of 390-20. He has coached 33 high school All-Americas and 56 players who went on to become college All-Americas.
Jenny Hansen
SOMERSET, WIS.
Hansen, a junior at Kentucky, was the only gymnast named as a finalist for the Honda Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year Award. In '94 she won NCAA titles in the all-around, the vault and the balance beam. Her 39.75 winning score in the all-around was the best in NCAA championship meet history.
Courtney Alexander

Antawn Jamison
CHARLOTTE, N.C.
Courtney, a 6'5" senior point guard at Jordan High, and Antawn, a 6'8" senior power forward at Providence High, were ranked by Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook as the top two high school players in North Carolina. Courtney had 44 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in a 73-72 win over Hillside High, and 40 points, 11 rebounds and five steals in a 75-74 defeat of Riverside High. Through last Friday he was averaging 29.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.0 steals a game. Antawn had 40 points and 10 rebounds in a 69-67 victory against Independence High. Through last Friday he was averaging 26.2 points and 13.1 rebounds.
Patty Pease
MARYSVILLE, OHIO
Pease, 47, the girls' volleyball coach at Fairbanks High, guided the Panthers to a 432-74 record over the last 24 years including a 25-2 mark this season. Her teams made three appearances in the state finals and won the title in 1977. Pease, who retired at the conclusion of the season, also won 17 league crowns.
Marty Reasoner
HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y.
Marty, a senior ice hockey center at Deerfield (Mass.) Academy, scored 18 goals and had 25 assists in leading his team to a 16-1-1 record through last Friday. In 22 games last season he amassed 27 goals and 24 assists. He was also a member of the 16-and-under U.S. team.
