BOTTOM LINES

TIGRESS WOODS: According to Tiger, "The answer is, no, I don't
have a girlfriend."

IMG: Its clients have won half of the events on all of the
world's tours in 1997.

BUTCH HARMON: Tiger has awfully long coattails. The latest
rider: Harmon, whose book The Four Cornerstones of Winning Golf
has his No. 1 pupil on the cover.

GREG NORMAN: "Does [Tiger Woods] motivate me? Not at all. I
motivate myself to be a better player. I don't care what other
people do."

IRELAND: The Irish successfully defended their title in the
World Pitch & Putt championship, but it's a small world. Only
three other teams competed.

LEN MATTIACE: Last year he won the World Putting Championship.
This year he ranks 132nd on the Tour with the flat stick.

PGA: This week's field will be the strongest of any tournament
in the '90s, which should come as no surprise. Seven of the top
10 fields this decade have been PGAs.

TOMMY TOLLES: "Tom Kite asked me who I thought he should pick
[for the Ryder Cup team]. I said Paul Stankowski and David
Duval. The team's inexperienced anyway. Why not go all the way?"
