Racquetball Galbreath, 58, won the singles title in the 50-and-over age group at the National Masters Racquetball Association championships. He also won the doubles title in the 55-and-over division with Gary Roberts, 56, of Hermitage, Pa., and had a 19-2 record in the four-day event.

Basketball LaVell, a 6'7" senior forward at Pioneer High, was named Gatorade national player of the year for leading the Pioneers, who were 0-20 during his freshman season, to a Class A state title. He averaged 28.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.1 blocks.

She has won five national championships in the past two years and will compete at this summer's Pan American Games.

COLOR PHOTO: JIM MIDGETT Tony Adler, Dallas Baseball Tony, a senior pitcher at Greenhill School, struck out all 18 batters he faced while throwing a six-inning perfect game against Episcopal School of Dallas. In winning 8-0, he threw 55 of his 75 pitches for strikes, never went to a full count and had a two-ball count on only seven batters.

Bowling John, a senior at Hopatcong High, was named northern New Jersey's Section 1 bowler of the year after finishing the season with a 221.2 average, the highest ever in the state for a high school bowler. He led the 15-2 Chiefs to the Sussex County Interscholastic League title.
