Basketball Rometra, a senior guard at Archbishop Mitty High and daughter of former NFL All-Pro Roger Craig, averaged 21.6 points and 6.3 steals to lead the Monarchs to the state Division 1 final. Rometra, who will attend Duke, is also a six-time taekwondo national champion.

College, was named the American Women's Hockey Coaches Association Division III player of the year after finishing the season with 58 points, on 33 goals and 25 assists, and leading the Panthers to the Division III title.

Golf Tesinsky, 57, a retired nurse and a 12 handicapper, defeated Michelle Forester of Marathon, Fla., 2 and 1 to win the 18-hole Sombrero Country Club ladies' championship. (Her husband, Jack, won the men's title.) It was her third club tournament victory of 2000.

Lacrosse Pat, a senior midfielder at Novi High, scored six goals in a 12-7 win over St. Mary's High of Orchard Lake and later had seven goals in a 10-9 defeat of Detroit Catholic Central High. He led the 7-1 Wildcats with 40 goals through Sunday and will attend Maryland-Baltimore County in the fall.

Track and Field Adams, a senior at Bates College, won the Eastern College Athletic Conference title in the 35-pound weight throw with a heave of 57'10". He went on to finish second at the Division III championships and was named the New England Division III athlete of the year in his sport.

Baseball Hawley, a senior at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, pitched the first no-hitter in the Vikings' 78-year baseball history in a 1-0, 16-strikeout defeat of Minnesota-Crookston. He was named a Louisville Slugger national player of the week.
