Softball Kendra, a freshman shortstop at Irvine High, went 4 for 4, including a triple and a solo home run, and stole two bases in a 6-2 win over Laguna Hills High. Through Sunday she was hitting .481 with four homers and 15 stolen bases for the 15-5 Vaqueros.

COLOR PHOTO: JIM SIGMON Angel Patterson, Philadelphia Track and Field Patterson, a junior at Texas, broke the women's record for both the school and the meet with a 2000 collegiate-best time of 55.50 in winning the 400-meter intermediate hurdles at the Clyde Littlefield Texas relays. She also ran a leg for the Longhorns' winning 4x400 relay team.

Swimming Lawrence, 80, great-grandmother of one and grandmother of five, won the 25-, 50- and 100-yard freestyle, the 25, 50 and 100 breaststroke, and the 25 backstroke, and was a member of the victorious 4x25 medley and the 4x25 coed freestyle relays at the Senior Good Life Games.

Squash Ryan, a senior at the Taft School, beat William Broadbent of the Brunswick School 3-0 to win the individual title and lead the Big Red to the New England interscholastic boys' crown for the fourth consecutive year. He finished his varsity career with a 52-0 record.

Wrestling Kristi, 15, beat Megan McHattie, 19, of St. Paul by a pin and Ozma Lane, 17, of Roanoke, Va., 10-2 to win the 125-145 pound division at the AAU Women's World Folkstyle Championships. Kristi, who is 5-0 against female competition, was named the outstanding performer at the meet.
