Baseball Tim, a senior at Fallsburg High, went 5 for 5 and hit a solo, a two-run, a three-run and a grand slam homer in an 18-1 win over Chester High. He also pitched a no-hitter and had 15 strikeouts in a 7-0 defeat of Eldred High. Through Sunday he was batting .592 and had a 0.73 ERA for the 3-1 Comets.

Gymnastics Katie, a senior at East Kentwood High, won the all-around, with a score of 38.30, and the vault (9.7) and placed third on the balance beam to lead the Falcons to the girls' state championship in her first year of high school competition. She will attend West Virginia in the fall.

Swimming Botsford, a freshman at Arizona, won the 200-meter backstroke in 2:06.70, a national women's record, and placed fourth in the 100 backstroke at the NCAA championships. She also won the 200-yard backstroke at the Pac-10 meet as the Wildcats took the conference women's title.

Wrestling Cozart, 46, a high school wrestling coach, pinned Dean Olson of Mantua, Ohio, in 1:20 and Jim Lucas of Santa Cruz, Calif., in 1:25 to win the 46- to 50-year-old title in the 152-pound division at the U.S. championships. He has won a national age-group title four straight years.
COLOR PHOTO: SCOTT ESLINGER Ruksana Vohra, Beaumont, Texas Soccer Ruksana, a junior forward at West Brook High, had a natural hat trick and added one assist for the Lady Bruins in a 5-3 comeback victory over Lee High. She also had 22 saves as a backup goalie in a 1-0 defeat of Bradzoswood High. She led West Brook High in goals this season with 19.
