Caddie Cam Pros won't loop in the Caddie Classic, but they'll play

We recently held the 25th Alex Alexander Caddie Classic, the
Tour caddies' annual tournament, and things have changed. When I
partnered Arnold Palmer's caddie, Wayne Beck, to win the
inaugural event, it was a relaxed affair. Started by Mr.
Alexander, the B.C. Open tournament director, it had a $1,000
purse. The best player was Herman Mitchell, Lee Trevino's
caddie, and several Tour players looped for their loopers.
Today's pros are allergic to lifting, but some former pros play.
This year's winner was former Buy.com player Damon Green, Scott
Hoch's caddie. With prize money up to $40,000, I have a new take
on pros who lose their nerve, card or desire: It won't be long
before they're in the Caddie Classic.

Linn Strickler has caddied on the PGA Tour since 1973.
