PGA Tiger Woods and David Duval, who on Sunday pulled away from
runners-up Angel (El Pato) Cabrera and Eduardo (El Gato) Romero
of Argentina to win the EMC2 World Cup at Buenos Aires Golf Club
by three strokes, became the 23rd U.S. team to win in the
47-year history of the event.... The U.S. Supreme Court will
hear the Tour's appeal of its case against Casey Martin on Jan.
17. Martin lost his card at Q school last week.

LPGA On the 37-tournament '01 schedule, the tour replaced five
events that had a total purse of $4.2 million with five worth
$5.5 million, including the $1.5 million Sports Today Open in
South Korea, in October.

SENIOR Seven weeks after stumbling in the first stage of Q
school, Robert Floyd, 24, teamed with his father, Raymond, to
win the Office Depot Father and Son Challenge at the Ocean Club
in Paradise Island, Bahamas. Raymond drilled a 12-foot birdie
putt on the first playoff hole to beat Johnny and Scott Miller.

ALSO European officials will deploy 1,200 security personnel,
including plainclothes cops, and, for the first time in golf,
use closed-circuit surveillance cameras to monitor the fans at
the Sept. 28-30 Ryder Cup at the Belfry, in Sutton Coldfield,
England.... Trevor Immelman, 20, the '98 U.S. Publinks champ
from South Africa, beat Ernie Els and Titch Moore by three
strokes at the Vodacom Players Championship in Cape Town....
Peter Lonard shot a 19-under 269 to win the Ford Open at
Kooyonga Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia, his first win since
the '97 Australian Masters.
