As a freshman he led Division III in scoring with 26.1 points per game; as of the latest NCAA stats he was again tops at 28.5.

Hockey Silva, a senior goaltender at Northeastern, was named Eastern College Athletic Conference women's goalie of the week for the second time this year after making 40 saves in a 4-0 defeat of Dartmouth. With one more victory, she'll be the winningest goalie in school history.

Soccer Boucher, 61, coach of the girls' team at Souhegan High, guided the Sabers to their 12th straight postseason shutout, a 2-0 victory over Oyster River High of Durham in the state Class 1 title game. Souhegan has won a state crown in each of the seven years that Boucher has been coach.

Football Robert, a senior running back and linebacker at the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis, broke single-game school records for rushing touchdowns (seven), rushing yards (407) and tackles (35). He ended the year with 1,779 yards and 19 TDs on 166 carries and was named to the all-city team.

Volleyball Molly, a senior middle hitter at Hendersonville High, was selected as Division 1-A state championship match most valuable girl player for the fourth straight year. Molly, who will attend North Carolina on an athletic scholarship, led the Bearcats to four state titles in as many years.

Brent Howard, LIVERMORE, MAINE Powerlifting Howard, 30, a 229-pound corrections officer at the Franklin County Detention Facility, broke the world deadlifting record in the 242-pound class with a lift of 744 pounds. He surpassed the record set by Irby Campbell of Natchez, Miss., in 1999 by 38 pounds.
