Move Over Doctor Doink
Whoa, Mike Fratello! Now everyone can be a czar of the
telestrator. With StudioSketch ($599), made by Videonics Inc.,
you can draw over moving or still video for play-by-play
annotations on your television. Hook up the three-pound unit to
your TV and scrawl those X's and O's on the graphics tablet.

Rock Steady
The rear suspension of Marin's Attack Trail mountain bike
($2,800) adjusts to allow four to six inches of "travel" to help
attack rough terrain. Adding to durability is an extruded frame,
which is one piece of molded aluminum tubing. The hydraulic disc
brakes are made by Hayes, which also manufactures brakes for
Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Marin Mountain Bikes, 800-222-7557;

You Won't Need a Navigator
The BikeBrain (from VeloTrend, $99.95 for Palm V and Vx, $89.95
for other versions) turns a PalmPilot into a handlebar-mounted
computer. Using a sensor on the bike's front fork and a magnet
on a front-wheel spoke, BikeBrain monitors such information as
speed and elapsed time. It can also provide route directions.
