She finished the 200 in 2:08.85, breaking a 1998 conference record set by 2000 Olympic silver medalist Kristy Kowal, who competed for Georgia.

Wrestling Joe, a senior at Astronaut High who competes in the 275-pound weight class, won the Class 1A state title for the third consecutive year. Also named first-team all-state as a defensive tackle in football, he finished an undefeated season with 40 wins, 37 by pin.

Dog Sled Racing Aili, 26, who breeds sled dogs and is a bear-hunting guide, set a course record in the 250-mile Can-Am Crown International race with a time of 24 hours, 30 minutes. He broke the old mark by 21 minutes and finished nearly one hour ahead of the runner-up, Stan Passananti, 52, of Ely, Minn.

Hockey Labbe, a senior forward at Middlebury College, was named women's Division III player of the year after leading the Panthers to the national title for the second year in a row. In 2000-01 she set school records for points in a season (69) as well as assists (132) and points (240) in a career.

Basketball Jeremy, a senior forward at Oyster River High, scored his 1,000th career point when he hit seven three-pointers in a game against Milford High. Jeremy, who ended the season with 1,031 points, is the fourth member of his family to surpass 1,000 for the Bobcats.
COLOR PHOTO: LAURIE BECK Ernie Terrell, NORRISTOWN, PA. Track and Field Ernie, a senior at Norristown High, won both the 200- and 400-meter dashes at the state boys' high school indoor championships. His time of 21.50 in the 200 was a meet record and is the third fastest by a high schooler this year. He will attend Penn State on a football scholarship.
