Vaughn, who hadn't put the shot for 37 years, has won 42 gold medals since resuming in 1995.

Basketball Bloss, a senior forward at Emporia State University, was named the Daktronics's Division II women's player of the year after leading the Lady Hornets to a 29-2 record and an NCAA South Central Regional runner-up finish. She's Emporia State's No. 2 career scorer, with 1,915 points.

Since 1991 Maharishi has won 14 individual, doubles and team state crowns.

University, defeated Maurice Worth of Army 8-1 to win the NCAA championship in the 174-pound class. Koscheck, who is a three-time All-America and was a runner-up in last year's NCAAs, went 42-0 this season and won 14 bouts by pin.
