Golf Kingsley, a senior at Gainesville High who has accepted an athletic scholarship to Auburn, shot a tournament-record 68 to win the girls' state high school title for the fourth straight year, thereby becoming the first Georgia high school golfer of either sex to earn four state crowns.

COLOR PHOTO: MICHAEL QUARTERMAN Felix Grossman, LOS ANGELES Diving Grossman, a 67-year-old lawyer competing in the 65-to-69 age group, won the three-meter and placed third in the one-meter at the U.S. masters diving championships. Grossman, who had both knees and both hips replaced in 1998, was second in the one-meter in his age group at the 2000 worlds.

COLOR PHOTO: JIM LUZZI Trish D'Amato, HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. Lacrosse D'Amato, a sophomore defender at C.W. Post-Long Island University in Brookville, N.Y., was named Division II women's defender of the year after helping the Pioneers win the division title with a 13-9 defeat of West Chester (Pa.) University. She was also named the division tournament's MVP.

COLOR PHOTO: CHARLES BARKSDALE Marshevet Hooker, SAN ANTONIO Track and Field Marshevet, a sophomore at Southwest High, won the 100 and 200 meters and the long jump at the girls' class 5A state meet. Marshevet, who ran personal bests in the sprints (11.51 and 23.59, respectively), long-jumped seven inches farther than runner-up Julie Pickler of Rowlett High.

COLOR PHOTO: TED WHISNANT Josh Cribb, LAKE VIEW, S.C. Baseball Josh, a senior at Lake View High, became the first pitcher in his state to finish a season without allowing an earned run. In the Class A title game he had 11 strikeouts and gave up one hit as the Wild Gators won the state crown for the fifth year in a row, defeating Dixie High of Due West 13-0.

COLOR PHOTO: COURTESY OF PARK TUDOR SCHOOL Katie Martzolf, INDIANAPOLIS Tennis Katie, a senior at Park Tudor School, became only the second girl in Indiana to win four consecutive state high school championships when she defeated Lindsay Martin of Castle High 6-2, 6-4. Katie, who will play at Wake Forest next year, had a career singles record of 99-0.
