He's averaging eight yards a carry with nine touchdowns this season.

Track and Field Bell, 24, beat Marian Oprea, 19, of Romania with a leap of 56'6" to win the gold medal in the triple jump at the World University Games. A three-time All-America at hometown Northwestern State, Bell led the Demons to an outdoor Southland Conference title in 1999 and an indoor crown in '98.

Wulff, an All-Big East selection last season, also had one assist against Boston University, giving her a team-leading 11 points.
COLOR PHOTO: KEVIN W. FOWLER Joe Baum, OKEMOS, MICH. Soccer Baum, 54, attained his 300th victory as coach at Michigan State when the Spartans defeated Wisconsin-Green Bay 6-1. Baum, who's in his 25th season at Michigan State, was named Big Ten men's soccer coach of the year in 1996 and 2000 and is the Spartans' winningest soccer coach.
COLOR PHOTO: COURTESY OF UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA Megan Hosp, PASADENA Volleyball Hosp, a junior setter, led South Carolina to a 3-0 start and was named MVP of the Sun Devil Challenge after the Gamecocks beat Santa Clara, Hofstra and Arizona State to win the event. She hit .486 and had 124 assists in the tournament as the Gamecocks ascended to a No. 21 ranking, their best ever.

Judo Abbie, 12, who at 172 pounds was able to compete against older participants, won the 17-19 age group U.S. and Junior Olympic titles in the 172-pound-and-over class. She also came in first in the 13-14 group at 134 and over and is the youngest person ever selected to the Pan-American junior team.
