He also won his age group in the International Powerlifting Association championships, in which he set three 16-17 world records.

Volleyball Ford, a sophomore outside hitter at Cal State-San Bernardino, had 21 kills and 15 digs in a 3-1 win against Cal State-Los Angeles and 18 kills and 16 digs in a 3-0 victory over Chico State to give her 12 double doubles this fall. She's averaging 4.88 kills and 3.26 digs a game for the 22-1 Coyotes.

Cross-country Erika, a senior at Deerfield High, successfully defended her Central Suburban North Conference girls' title by running the 2.5-mile course in 14:07. Erika, who finished second in the 3,000 meters at a USA-Britain juniors dual meet last summer, has set nine girls' high school course marks this fall.

THORNTON Thomas Thrash, LITTLE ROCK Football Thomas, a senior quarterback at Pulaski Academy, broke his own state record for touchdown passes in a game by throwing 10 in a 77-20 defeat of Atkins (Ark.) High. He has completed 202 of 284 passes for 3,258 yards and 51 touchdowns this season for the 8-0 Bruins.

Soccer Miech, 46, coached the Wisconsin-Stevens Point women to a 4-1 defeat of Wisconsin-Stout that ran their league unbeaten streak to 52 games, a Division III women's record in the sport. This fall she guided the 13-1 Pointers to their fifth straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title.

Post. Bunce, who has 15 goals this year, has led the Falcons to a No. 2 ranking.
