What Happened Last Time EAGLES 20 BUCS 10
The Eagles have a habit of doing to the Bucs what the Bucs like
to do to other teams. On Oct. 20 Philadelphia put intense
pressure on Tampa Bay's offense, piled up six sacks and knocked
quarterback Brad Johnson out of the game with a broken rib. Last
season, in an NFC wild-card game, the Eagles routed the Bucs
31-9, intercepting Johnson four times. The year before that the
teams also met in the wild-card round, and Philly turned out the
lights on Tampa Bay's season, holding the Bucs to 199 total yards
and sacking Shaun King four times in a 21--3 win. The constant in
those three encounters at the Vet was that Tampa Bay was not able
to score an offensive touchdown. The Bucs never mounted any
semblance of a running game, while the Eagles were able to get
decent yardage on the ground, usually late, while preserving a
lead. --Paul Zimmerman
