What Happened Last Time RAIDERS 52, TITANS 25

They met in Oakland on Sept. 29, and the game was one of those
freak shows that was over very quickly. The Raiders intercepted
Steve McNair on the Titans' first possession, scored one play
later, stopped Tennessee on the next two drives and returned both
punts for touchdowns. Oakland had run one play from scrimmage and
was up 21-0 before the game was six minutes old. The rest was
window dressing. The game came during a very bad period for the
Titans, who were in the midst of losing their third of four
straight. Running back Eddie George was hobbling on a bad foot,
and top receiver Derrick Mason was lost in that game with a
separated shoulder, as was the team's best cover corner, Samari
Rolle, with a hamstring pull. The following week, reeling
Tennessee dropped to 1-4 with a loss to the Redskins, and owner
Bud Adams issued his famous quote: "It looks to me like we're
getting outcoached." Then Tennessee won 11 of its next 12, as
McNair seemingly lifted the whole operation by sheer force of
will. --Paul Zimmerman
