In the Crease

Unlike in his first four NHL seasons, during which most of his
goals (he averaged 27 per year) came off the cycle down low, the
Senators' Marian Hossa has scored off the rush more often this
year. Thanks to a rigorous conditioning program, Hossa, who
through Sunday was on pace to finish with 53 goals, has added
speed to his game, something that had been missing since he tore
his anterior cruciate ligament as a rookie in 1998--99.... The
slumping Bruins, who were 4-14-1-0 in their last 19 games through
Sunday, have lost their focus. In a 3--1 loss to the Thrashers
last week, Boston took three too-many-men-on-the-ice penalties in
one period, the first time that had happened to any team in more
than a year.
