annual American Bowl. For those not football-crazy enough to rise
at dawn for an exhibition, the game will be replayed at 8 p.m. on
ESPN.
SATURDAY 8/2 > ABC 3:30 PM > MLS All-Star Game
The MLS's best, including U.S. national team players Landon
Donovan, DaMarcus Beasley and Clint Mathis, go against Mexican
club Chivas Guadalajara, winner of 10 Mexican Cups. The winning
team does not get home field advantage in the World Series.
SUNDAY 8/3 > NBC 2:30 PM > NASCAR: The Brickyard 400
Native son Jeff Gordon, who grew up in Pittsboro, Ind., has won
three of the nine races at the speedway. He's one victory shy of
tying boyhood hero A.J. Foyt's record for most wins at Indy.
SUNDAY 8/3 > ABC 2:30 PM > Women's British Open: Final Round
Annika Sorenstam takes aim at Royal Lytham and St. Annes in
England--as well as a $1.6 million purse; this is the only major
championship not on her resume.
MONDAY 8/4 > ABC 8 PM > Packers vs. Chiefs
Are you ready for some...sideline reporting? The Hall of Fame
game--a rematch of Super Bowl I--marks the debut of Lisa
Guerrero.
