The Week In Television

AUG. 22-AUG. 28

FRIDAY 8/22 > CBS 8 PM > Falcons at Dolphins
The Dolphins added two former Pro Bowlers (Junior Seau and Sammy
Knight) to a strong defense. Which means even more trouble for
the Vickless Falcons.

SATURDAY 8/23 > ESPN2 6 PM > Grambling State at San Jose State
Grambling's junior quarterback, Bruce Eugene (4,483 passing yards
last season), leads SI's No. 1-ranked Division I-AA team against
the I-A Spartans (6-7 in '02).

SATURDAY 8/23 > FOX 1 PM > Phillies at Cardinals
Philadelphia is one of only three NL teams that Triple Crown
candidate Albert Pujols has failed to homer against in 2003.

SUNDAY 8/24 > ABC 6:30 PM > Little League World Series Championship
Can the homeboys make it two in a row? Last year the preteens
from Louisville became the first U.S. team to win at Williamsport
since 1998.

MONDAY 8/25 > USA NETWORK 11 AM > U.S. Open
The start of more than 95 hours of live coverage. (CBS takes over
on the weekend and has a nightly highlight show.) Kim Clijsters
and Andre Agassi are the top seeds.

DON'T MISS

SATURDAY 8/23 > TNT 7:30 PM
NASCAR Winston Cup: Sharpie 500
Jimmy Spencer, suspended for punching Kurt Busch last week, won't
be there, but the annual night race at Bristol will still have
plenty of short-track bumping and banging in front of 160,000
rabid fans.
