Greatest Moment
The West Virginia football team sailed through the '88 regular
season undefeated and untied for the first time in school
history. No win was sweeter than the 51-30 rout of Penn State;
the 51 points are the most the Mountaineers have scored in 59
meetings with the despised Nittany Lions. West Virginia finished
No. 5 in the nation after losing to top-ranked Notre Dame in the
Fiesta Bowl.
