Going Down
Maegan Carney has never climbed an 8,000-meter peak, but that's
not stopping her from trying to become the first woman, and only
the second person, to ski down from the roof of the world.
Carney, who left Mount Everest's base camp last week, is plotting
a line down the Lhotse Face. The 38-year-old Seattle native won
the Women's World Extreme Skiing Championship in Valdez, Alaska,
last year.
