Mike Hart, NEDROW, N.Y.
Football
Mike, a senior tailback at Onondaga Junior-Senior High, has
rushed for 100 yards or more in 41 consecutive games, breaking
the varsity record of 38, set in 1975 by Billy Sims. He has 100
carries for 1,840 yards and 38 touchdowns this season.
Casie Poyssick, LAND O' LAKES, FLA.
Soccer
Poyssick, a freshman forward at Saint Leo, leads Division II in
goals (22) and points scored (49). She has helped her school to
its best start ever; the Lions have already won more games this
season (nine) than in their past three seasons combined.
Daniel Wasson, COLORADO SPRINGS
Soccer
Wasson, a sophomore midfielder at the Air Force Academy, has
scored a Division I-leading 13 goals over 10 games. On Oct. 7 he
scored his third hat trick of the season and was named national
student-athlete of the week by College Sports Television.
Mia Jerkov, SPLIT, CROATIA
Volleyball
Jerkov, a junior outside hitter at California, had 65 kills on
144 attempts with 26 errors over two matches, one a win over
Stanford, a school the Golden Bears hadn't beaten since 1982. She
is a five-time Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week.
Bobby Bradley, GOODLETTSVILLE, TENN.
Roller Pigeons
Bradley, 71, a retired autoworker, won a fall regional fly in
this sport, in which kits of 15 to 20 pigeons are judged by rolls
and turns they perform, and by time in the air. Earlier this year
Bradley's kit set a world record at the World Cup regional fly.
Kristin Moyer, SOUDERTON, PA.
Field Hockey
Moyer, a senior forward at Eastern Mennonite University, leads
Division III with 23 goals and 53 points. She had a school-record
14 points in a 12-1 win over Sweet Briar. Moyer was the 2002 Old
Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Kristian Ipsen, CLAYTON, CALIF.
Diving
Kristian, a fifth-grader at Palmer school, won the three-meter
and one-meter titles at the USA Diving Junior Nationals (boys 13
and under) in Coral Springs, Fla. He set a meet record with
460.47 points in the three-meter final.
