Scout's Take
On the Bulls, who fired coach Bill Cartwright on Monday after a
4-10 start and named Pete Myers as his interim replacement:
"The new coach is going to have the same problems that Cartwright
had with Jalen Rose and Jamal Crawford. Rose is a capable scorer
who can post up and pass, but he's hardheaded and busts up a lot
of plays, especially coming out of timeouts. Crawford looks like
he only cares about beating his defender, which is why Cartwright
put the ball in the hands of Scottie Pippen and rookie Kirk
Hinrich. The Bulls should be feeding Eddy Curry on the block, but
he's getting so few scoring chances that when he gets the ball
he's shooting to keep his numbers up. That's how selfishness
spreads."
