Syracuse NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

Here Hakim comes to save the day! With 2.8 seconds left in the
championship game and Syracuse clinging to an 81-78 lead, Kansas
guard Michael Lee launched a trey for the tie. Running out from
the key, forward Hakim Warrick swatted the shot harmlessly
out-of-bounds. Behind wunderkind forward Carmelo Anthony, the
Orange--unranked at season's start--had prevailed, for its first
title.
