In The Crease
Wild forward Brent Burns, who was the team's first-round pick in
last June's draft, is not only a star in the making but also a
character. Before being loaned to the Canadian national team for
the World Junior tournament, the 18-year-old Burns asked 10 women
in the Minneapolis area what would be the coolest car he could
buy. The overwhelming response was a Cadillac Escalade, so he got
one. The only problem is, Burns can't drive it because he doesn't
have a license yet.... The Bruins have put center Brian Rolston
on the block. Rolston, who had 12 goals through Sunday and will
be an unrestricted free agent after the season, was offered to
the Stars recently for center Jason Arnott. At week's end Dallas
had yet to bite on that proposal.... How deep are the Flyers at
center? Besides Jeremy Roenick, Mike Comrie, Keith Primeau and
Michal Handzus, the organization has two sensational junior
prospects, Jeff Carter and Mike Richards, at that position. Don't
be surprised to see Philly deal one of its veterans before the
season is completed.
