Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Each year a total of almost a million fans flock here for the
Indy 500, NASCAR's Brickyard 400 and the U.S. Grand Prix. Built
in 1909 as a testing facility for the car industry, the track
became known as the Brickyard after it was repaved with bricks
later that year. The Speedway offers bus tours around its 2
1/2-mile oval.
