Three Points
1. Miami coach Perry Clark is on thin ice. Just 4,025 fans showed
up at Miami's Convocation Center last Saturday to watch the
Hurricanes lose their seventh straight game, 91-74 to Syracuse,
dropping their record to 13-12.
2. Florida needs to get tougher. During their 73-70 home loss to
LSU on Saturday, the Gators shot just eight free throws compared
with LSU's 28 and were outplayed down the stretch.
3. The Pac-10 will probably get only two NCAA tournament bids.
Since 1988 the league has never placed fewer than three teams,
but Cal (11-10) and Oregon (12-7), who were tied for third place,
are likely headed for the NIT.
