Faces in the Crowd

Cathy Homiek, TOMS RIVER, N.J.
Lacrosse

Homiek, a senior attacker at Montclair State, set an NCAA record
when she got her 184th career assist in an 18-1 win over Wilkes.
She also holds the Division III single-season record for points,
and she leads the Red Hawks in points this year.

Kevin Cooper, MISSISSAUGA, ONT.
Ice Hockey

Cooper, a senior forward at Middlebury College, scored the
winning goal in a 1-0 overtime victory over St. Norbert to give
the Panthers a NCAA Division III-record sixth national hockey
championship. He was named Division III National Player of the
Year.

Alexandra Lalli, NEWPORT, R.I.
Swimming

Alexandra, a freshman at Rogers High, won the 50-yard freestyle
at the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Girls' Swim
Championships in a state-record time of 24.82 and also won the
100-yard freestyle. She set five school records this season.

Cole Province, CLAREMORE, OKLA.
Wrestling

Province, a senior at Central Oklahoma, won the NCAA Division II
133-pound championship, making him the third wrestler in Division
II history to win four national titles. He ended the season with
a 36-1 record and won 74 of his last 75 matches.

Sandi Clark, HINESTON, LA.
Softball

On consecutive days Clark, a righthanded pitcher at Louisiana
College, threw a no-hitter and a perfect game, striking out 22
hitters in the two games. She has a 11-2 record this season, has
struck out 121 batters in 92 innings and has an 0.38 ERA.

Dominitrix Johnson, BELL CITY, MO.
Basketball

Dominitrix, a senior point guard at Bell City High, scored a
game-high 40 points in a 74-62 win over St. Elizabeth for the
Class 1 state basketball title. He led the Cubs in points,
rebounds and assists this season and was named first-team Class 1
All-State.

Rachel Crissy, NAPERVILLE, ILL.
Basketball and Ice Hockey

As a guard on Naperville Central High's basketball team, Rachel
helped the Redhawks defend their state Class AA title. Thirteen
hours later, as a forward for Team Illinois's 19-and-under girls'
team, she assisted on the game-winning goal in the state
championship.
