Hairy Situations
Now's not a good time to be an athlete's barber. First, Falcons quarterback Michael Vick--who broke his leg shortly after getting a haircut last season--said he wouldn't trim his locks until the Falcons win the Super Bowl. Then Yao Ming vowed that China would make the Olympic quarterfinals: "If we don't, I won't shave for six months as punishment." Chances are, both will have hirsute futures: The Falcons were drubbed by the Ravens 24--0 in their preseason opener, and China lost to Spain by 25 in its first Olympic game.
