Liane Dixon

VINEYARD HAVEN, MASS. > Field Hockey

Dixon, a senior forward at Northeastern, scored four goals in two games and helped the Huskies put together a six-game winning streak. She leads the team with eight goals and 20 points and has earned consecutive America East player of the week honors.

Aimee Callison

WICHITA, KANS. > Taekwondo

Aimee, a junior at Northwest High, won a girls' age-group black-belt gold medal in sparring at the U.S. Junior Olympics, her fifth national title. She also won the National Fight Off at the USA Olympic Training Center, gaining a spot on the junior national team.

Chad Friehauf

BRUSH, COLO. > Football

Friehauf, a senior quarterback at the Colorado School of Mines, has led the team to a 4--0 start, its best since 1963. He has rushed for 183 yards on 33 carries, completed 105 passes for 1,311 yards and scored 12 touchdowns, and also has a string of 110 passes without an interception.

Heloisa de Oliveira

CAMPINAS, BRAZIL > Soccer

De Oliveira, a freshman forward at Lincoln Memorial, was named Gulf South Conference women's player of the week for a second time after scoring four goals and leading the Lady Railsplitters to a pair of wins and a 6--0 record. She has 17 goals this season.

Jeffrey Norris

HILLSBORO, OHIO > Trapshooting

Norris, 38, a former welder and carpenter who lost his left eye in a 1984 accident, won the 105th Grand American World Trapshooting Tournament in Vandalia, Ohio. He hit 99 targets in the first round and all 25 targets in a shootoff.

Thomas Hopkins

CORONADO, CALIF. > Water Polo

Hopkins, a junior driver at Stanford, opened the season by scoring four goals in a 16--4 win over Santa Clara, then scored a career-high eight goals in a 17--7 victory over BYU-Hawaii. He leads the 7--1 Cardinal in goals for the season, with 23.
