Instead of helping the Tampa Bay Lightning retain the Stanley Cup, associate coach Craig Ramsey was a spectator at the Funai Classic at Walt Disney World. "I have plenty of time to watch and play golf nowadays," said the locked-out coach, who was a guest of Daniel Chopra's caddie, Steve Duplantis, "but I'd rather be working." ... According to Dave Stockton, "All the past captains are backing Larry [Nelson]" for the captaincy of the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup team. The PGA of America asked Stockton, skipper of the victorious 1991 U.S. side, and all the living U.S. captains who they thought would be the best choice. "This is the first time they've asked my opinion about anything since I was captain," said Stockton.... Almost a month after the last of four hurricanes passed through Florida, two courses that host Tour events have reopened. The Sunrise course at Mirasol (Honda Classic) in West Palm Beach reopened on Oct. 19 after six weeks and almost $400,000 worth of repairs. In Orlando, Bay Hill Golf Club (Bay Hill Invitational) reopened its flood-damaged 16th and 17th holes this week.... Despite missing the cut at Disney after a second-round 80, Red Sox fan Tim Petrovic was unfazed. "Nothing could ruin my good mood," he said.... On Oct. 26 Doral will dedicate a commemorative plaque at the spot in the 18th fairway of the Blue Monster from which Craig Parry holed a 166-yard six-iron for eagle to win this year's Ford Championship.
