REUBEN DROUGHNS, Broncos Running Back "I've been shaving my head twice a week since my freshman year in high school. I do it myself. I do it every game morning or on Saturday night before the game. It makes me feel good and tough. It gives me that edge. I'll always shave my head."
TROY POLAMALU, Steelers Safety "I last cut my hair three years ago. Indirectly, it's part of my heritage--there are a lot of Samoans with really long hair. I don't worry about getting it yanked on the field. It would be the best hair pulling ever: They could pull my hair out on an interception."
ADRIAN PETERSON, Bears Running Back Hasn't cut his hair since 2000 but occasionally gets it "retwisted" at a salon called Chic not far from the Bears' headquarters in Lake Forest. The process takes two to three hours. "I'm just letting it grow. When I get tired of it, then I'll cut it."
RAY BUCHANAN, Raiders Safety "I fly a young lady in from Atlanta every other Friday to do my hair, retouch it, wash it. You want to keep dreadlocks clean, not let them mat up. I've had it this way since 2000. I had cornrows, and then my wife decided I would look pretty good in dreadlocks."
