FRIDAY 7

SportsCentury: Bevo Francis ESPN Classic 8 p.m. | Bevo who? In 1953 the kid from Rio Grande College set an NCAA record that still stands: 113 points in a game. Says Francis, “I wasn’t a movie star, but there was a time when everyone in the country knew my name.”

SATURDAY 8

Purina Incredible Dog Challenge NBC 3 p.m. | More than 60 canines square off in hurdle races, freestyle flying disk and diving. NFL Playoffs, Jets at Chargers ABC 8 p.m. | New York won 34–28 in Week 2--two weeks before San Diego went on an 11–2 tear.

SUNDAY 9

Happy Birthday! | Muggsy Bogues turns 40. The 5'3" guard averaged 7.6 assists over 14 years and now wants to get into TV. Mercedes Championship ESPN 7 p.m. | Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh kick off the PGA Tour season at Maui’s Kapalua Plantation Course.

MONDAY 10

Lakers at Timberwolves NBATV 8 p.m. | Last year they fought it out in the conference finals; this year they’re fighting it out for sixth place in the West. But some things haven’t changed--Kevin Garnett is again the league’s leading rebounder.

TUESDAY 11

No. TK Alabama at Arkansas ESPN 9 p.m. | The Razorbacks blew through their cream-puff nonconference slate. Now they get a real test in the Tide, which has three players--guard Earnest Shelton, Kennedy Winston, Chuck Davis--averaging more than 16 points.

WEDNESDAY 12

Winter Revolution OLN 9 p.m. | World Cup leader Bode Miller prepares for the 2006 Olympics. No. TK Georgia Tech at No. TK North Carolina ESPN 7 p.m. | The Yellow Jackets, coming off a tough OT loss to No. 2 Kansas, look to rebound in a huge ACC matchup.

THURSDAY 13

Snowmobile Hall of Fame Induction | The first family of snowmobiling, the Wahls, see brothers Dave and Durmont inducted in Eagle River, Wis. Nets at Rockets TNT 8 p.m. | With Vince Carter, who is averaging 22.3 points as a Net, 11–18 New Jersey is 2–2.
