A List What golfers are talking about

•WALRUS SKINNED Jack Nicklaus, 65, took 11 skins, while Craig Stadler, 51, got five, but with Stadler in the Skins Game, we're just glad it wasn't Shirts and Skins.

•TY WINS Ty Tryon, the former whiz kid who in 2002 joined the PGA Tour at age 18, got his first pro win--at a Hooter's tour event. By June he'll even be old enough to go there for a beer.

•BYE-BYE, BERNIE Bernhard Langer pulled himself out of the running for '06 Ryder Cup captain. Perhaps he only liked beating the Americans and didn't "properly hate" them.

•BYE-BYE, ARNIE Arnold Palmer won't play at Bay Hill, breaking a 52-year string of Tour play. At 75 it's probably hard to think of anything you'd like to do 53 times in a row.

•BYE-BYE, ERNIE Ernie Els's attempt to win four straight Heineken Classics fell short after three back-nine bogeys on Sunday. Well, maybe he's getting the heartbreak out of the way early this year.
