PONY UP
Saturday's rain delay lasted from about 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and was an unwelcome rest for everyone except Lee Westwood, whose horse, Right Approach, was running in an undercard race at the Dubai Gold Cup. The break allowed Westwood, a part owner in the thoroughbred, to listen to the race. Right Approach tied for first in the same race last year but could muster only a third this time out, good for $150,000 in prize money. What did Westwood think of that? "It paid for its hay," he said. On the course Westwood paid for his own hay with a 22nd-place finish, for $86,400.
