Miller, a senior at Miami, won the individual title and led the Hurricanes to their first state team championship in 12 years, at the Ryder Florida Women's Collegiate Golf Championship. The victory was her third individual win of the season and the seventh of her career.
 
DeShawn Barrett
BALTIMORE > Wrestling
DeShawn, a senior at Patterson High, won the 215-pound individual title at the National High School Coaches Association Wrestling Tournament, bringing his record over two years to 73--2. He is the state Class 4A-3A champion and The Baltimore Sun's All-Metro wrestler of the year.
 
Katie Ferguson
PORTLAND > Racquetball
Katie, a senior at the Catlin Gabel School, won the individual girls' title and helped the Eagles to their second straight national team title at the USA Racquetball National High School Championships. Her individual win earned her a spot on the U.S. junior national team.
 
Mikie Garner
SPRING GARDEN, ALA. > Basketball
Mikie, a senior center-forward at Spring Garden High, led the Panthers to their second straight Class 1A state title. She was named the MVP at the state and regional tournaments and the Class 1A player of the year. A five-year starter, she ended her high school career with 2,294 points.
 
Chris Ash
AKRON > Swimming
Chris, a senior at Firestone High, became Ohio's first male high school swimmer to win the same event four years in a row when he took the 100-yard breaststroke title at the boys' state swimming championships. He set a state record with a time of 54.7 seconds.

STEELTON, PA. > Basketball
Tristan (far left) and Tramayne, seniors at Steelton-Highspire High, are the state's first high school teammates to reach at least 2,000 points each in the same season.]
