Ethan Busald
COVINGTON, KY. > Tennis
Busald, a senior at Transylvania, was the No. 1 seed in singles and doubles at the Heartland Conference tournament. He won both titles, and he was named MVP for an unprecedented fourth consecutive time. He helped the Pioneers win three straight conference titles.
Courtney Bumpers
STONE MOUNTAIN, GA. > Gymnastics
Bumpers, a junior at North Carolina, won the individual title in the floor exercises at the NCAA gymnastics championships at Auburn University on April 23. The three-time All-America earned her first 10.0 of the season and the ninth perfect score of her career.
Collins Wonzina
BAMBERG, GERMANY > Soccer
Collins, a senior forward at Bamberg High, whose father is a U.S. Army staff sergeant, scored 10 goals in a game and a half to help the team win its first two games of the season and was named player of the week by Stars and Stripes. He has 19 goals this season for the 4-1-1 Barons.
Dave Schwartz
DIX HILLS, N.Y. > Lacrosse
Schwartz, a senior midfielder at Connecticut College, scored back-to-back winning goals for the Camels. On April 6 he beat Wesleyan with his fourth goal of the game. Against Bates three days later he scored a goal that tied the game, then scored again in the fifth overtime for the victory.
Jessie Granger
TROY, MICH. > Softball
Jessie, a senior righthander at Troy High, has thrown three straight perfect games and also has four no-hitters while allowing only eight hits in 88 innings this season. She has a 13--0 record for the 15--2 Colts with 195 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. She will attend Wright State in the fall.
Laura Hostetler
ELLICOTT CITY, MD. > Lacrosse
Hostetler, a sophomore midfielder at George Washington, became the Colonials' alltime leading scorer with 126 points 31 games into her college career. She leads the Atlantic 10 with 72 points for the season; as a freshman she was named the conference's rookie of the year.
