Royals manager Tony Peña got the dreaded vote of confidence from owner David Glass last Thursday, and with Kansas City at 7-18 through Sunday, including 2-12 at home, Peña could become the first skipper fired this season. Meanwhile, time may be running out for Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon, whose record with Pittsburgh was 289-380 after an 8-15 start. And with Sandy Alderson taking over as CEO of the Padres, skipper Bruce Bochy might be in trouble if San Diego (11-14) continues to struggle.
