SLEEPY HOLLOW, ILL. > Baseball

Tomasiewicz, a senior lefthander at Wisconsin-Whitewater, pitched a complete-game victory against SUNY Cortland to give the Warhawks the Division III championship and their first national baseball title. This season he set school records for wins in one season (15) and career wins (35).

WAYNE, N.J. > Swimming

Felicia, a seventh-grader at the Schuyler-Colfax Middle School, set YMCA national age-group records (11--12) in the 200 individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly while competing in the women's division at the YMCA national short-course championships in Fort Lauderdale.

Justin Oliver

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA. > Track and Field

Justin, a senior at Redan High, scored 35 points and led the Raiders to their second straight state Class AAAAA track title. He won gold medals in the long jump, 200- and 400-meter dashes, 4√ó100- and 4√ó400-meter relays and was named the meet's most outstanding performer.

Samantha Harris

THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF. > Equestrian

Samantha, a sophomore at La Reina High, rode Majestic Moments to victory at the Hansen Dam show in the last event of the season to become the Southern California Interscholastic Equestrian League varsity grand champion. Her win helped the Regents maintain an 11-year streak.

Fernando Zambrano

TUSCALOOSA, ALA. > Soccer

Fernando, a junior striker at Holy Spirit Catholic High, scored a school-record 53 goals and had 18 assists this season to lead the 20-2-1 Titans to the Alabama Class 1A--4A boys championship. It was the team's first state soccer title, and he was named the tournament's MVP.

Sara and Claire Young

LAURENS, S.C. > Track and Field

Sisters Sara (far left) and Claire, a sophomore at Clemson and a senior at Thornwell High, respectively, won pole vault events on May 7. Sara set a Tigers' women's record (12'111/2"); Claire (9') took her second state title.
