HERE ARE some new names to keep an eye on as the NFL season heads deeper into its second half.
Wide Receiver, Seahawks The second-year man from Colorado didn't fare well in his first stint as a starter; poor route running and bad blocking sent him back to the bench. But Seattle's receiving corps has been decimated by injury, and Hackett is making the most of his second chance. In Week 10 he made two long catches (47, 31) and scored a TD. Hackett should continue to be Matt Hasselbeck's deep threat.
Tight End, Buccaneers Yes, the other Alex Smith. Unlike the first overall pick, this rookie from Stanford is actually playing. Smith is an imposing target with speed and good hands, and he's worked to improve his blocking. That won't earn you fantasy points, but it will keep him on the field, where he is becoming a favorite target of new QB Chris Simms.
