Fantasy Watch

THESE PLAYERS didn't get moved in hot stove deals, but recent trades will significantly affect their playing time--and fantasy value.

Prince Fielder

First baseman, Brewers The Brewers furthered their commitment to a kiddie corps infield by trading vet Lyle Overbay to the Blue Jays and handing the first base job to the 21-year-old Fielder. Cecil's son hit .291 with 28 home runs and 86 RBIs for Triple A Nashville last season. Since he'll only get better, you shouldn't be afraid to overpay for him in keeper leagues.

Brian Anderson

Outfielder, White Sox Chicago was willing to trade Aaron Rowand to Philadelphia for Jim Thome because they believe Anderson, 23, is ready to take over in centerfield. But the righthanded hitter doesn't have great power (16 homers in Triple A last year), doesn't steal many bases and strikes out too much. Anderson will most likely bat either eighth or ninth and provide limited fantasy value this season.

Others to Watch

Miguel Cabrera is now the top fantasy third baseman in the NL. The Marlins dealt Mike Lowell to Boston, allowing Cabrera, who played leftfield the past two seasons, to move back to his natural position.... Johnny Estrada's trade to Arizona means Brian McCann, who will be just 22 on Opening Day, assumes the role of Atlanta's first-string catcher. A .260 average and 10 homers are realistic goals.
