Brandie Beale
INDEPENDENCE, MO. > Soccer
Beale, a sophomore forward at Nebraska-Omaha, scored with a shot over the goalkeeper 3:03 into overtime to beat Seattle Pacific 2-1 and give the Mavericks their first NCAA Division II soccer title. She led the North Central Conference in assists and was named to the NSCAA All--Central Region team.

Eddie Jackson
CLEBURNE, TEXAS > Basketball
Jackson, a senior guard at Pittsburg State, scored 34 points in 20 minutes in a 76-59 win over St. Gregory's, 20 points in 21 minutes in an 82-50 win over Hannibal-LaGrange and 21 points in 17 minutes in a 106-48 win over St. Joseph. He was the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association player of the week.

Julia Smit
MOUNT SINAI, N.Y. > Swimming
Julia, a senior at Mount Sinai High, set a national high school record in the preliminaries of the 200-yard individual medley at the state high school swim championships at Erie Community College, in Buffalo, with a time of 1:58.29. She was voted the meet's most outstanding swimmer for the third straight year.

Josh Culbertson
NITRO, W.VA. > Football
Josh, a senior running back at Nitro High, rushed for 3,589 yards this season and 7,844 for his career, both West Virginia high school records. He led the Mountain State Athletic Conference in rushing for three seasons, scored 46 career touchdowns and was its 2005 player of the year.

Joslyn Giles
WINTER HAVEN, FLA. > Basketball
Giles, a senior forward at Rollins College, has led the Tars to a 9-0 start, averaging a team-high 18.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 27.3 minutes per game. She scored 22 points with 10 rebounds and four steals in the team's first conference victory of the season, over Florida Tech.

Ryan Vint
PLYMOUTH, MINN. > Soccer
Ryan, a senior goalkeeper at Wayzata High, led the Trojans to a 20-1-1 record and their first state Class AA title in 20 years. He had a 0.23 goals-against average, with 18 shutouts. He was the Minneapolis Star Tribune metro player of the year, the state's Mr. Soccer and was named to the NSCAA All-America team.
