Boston may have undermined its ability to attract future free agents. The Bruins raised eyebrows when they traded center Dave Scatchard (right) to Phoenix less than four months after signing him as a free agent. Scatchard lasted only 16 games in Boston.... Rumors are flying about the firing of Penguins coach Ed Olczyk. The most ridiculous one is that wing Mark Recchi and defenseman Lyle Odelein--both class acts--were behind it.... Devils coach Larry Robinson, who resigned on Monday, looked ready to quit after Saturday's 4-1 loss to Carolina. Robinson simply could not adjust to the new NHL rules.
