Who's Hot / Who's Not

Who's Hot

FSU
Not one, not two, but four Florida State defenders--including new Detroit Lionslinebacker Ernie Sims (left)--were top 20 picks in the NFL draft. And it wasalso a good Saturday for former Seminole Javon Walker, who got his wish and wastraded from Green Bay to Denver, where he's reportedly close to signing alucrative six-year deal.

St. LouisCardinals
On the east side of Missouri the Cards are 17--8, have won eight of 10, andtheir peerless slugger, Albert Pujols (right), is drawing intentional walks inthe first inning. Said manager Tony La Russa, "We've really played goodbaseball, but I've never got the feeling we were a really hot baseballclub." Tony, we disagree.

CarlosBeltran
Ooh la la! Fresh off being named one of PEOPLE'S 100 most beautiful, theoutfielder returned from a leg injury to smack a double and a two-run HR in hisfirst two games back for the front-running Mets.

Couches
On a great weekend for loungin' and watchin'--how about a draft with thoseplayoffs?--Chris Couch's 55-foot chip sealed his first PGA win.

Who's Not

USC
Reggie Bush slipped to No. 2 in the draft, Matt Leinart fell to No. 10, WinstonJustice tumbled to No. 39, and LenDale White dropped to No. 45. That's the goodnews compared with this: Freshman QB Mark Sanchez (right) was arrested onsuspicion of sexual assault, and the rent scandal surrounding Bush could yetcost him his Heisman.

Kansas CityRoyals
On the west side of Missouri the Royals are a big league worst 5--17, gotrained out of a game they were (gasp!) leading 6--1 and hit as many homers inApril--14--as Pujols did. Said Reggie Sanders (left), who's batting .233,"It's just tough ... to try to stay upbeat." Reggie, we feel your Royalpain.

HenrikLundqvist
He may be one of PEOPLE's beautiful 100, but New York's netminder gave up someugly goals as his Rangers got swept out of the playoffs by the Devils. And whatgood's a pretty mug when you're always wearing a mask?

Kite
Who could go fly one with all that tube fare? And Tom Kite fell short in Texas;he's still never won a PGA-sanctioned event in his home state.
