Divas of the National Women's FootballAssociation, rushed for 186 yards and scored three touchdowns in the team's28--7 victory over the Oklahoma City Lightning for the world championship ofwomen's football in Wexford, Pa. She was the offensive MVP of the titlegame.

Shanay, an incoming freshman at Cypress Christian High, was named MostOutstanding Performer for field events after winning the youth division shotput, high jump and triple jump at the AAU National Junior Olympic Games. Shealso competed in the USTAF National Junior Olympics, winning the youth shotput, high jump and pentathlon.

Balmer, a senior third baseman at Lewis-Clark State, led the Warriors to a 5--4victory over Cumberland in the final game of the National Association ofIntercollegiate Athletics World Series and was the tournament and series MVP.The All-America had a .377 average and a team-high 41 RBIs for the season.

Lynch, the boys' golf coach at Simsbury High, took the undefeated Trojans totheir second straight Division I state title. In 26 seasons at the school hehas a 650-48-10 record, making him the nation's career leader in wins for boys'golf. His teams have won six state championships.

Heise, a righthanded pitcher who recently graduated from the College of St.Scholastica, became the NCAA Division III alltime strikeout leader, with 1,125.She is a four-time Upper Midwest Athletic Conference softball player of theyear and was the Saints' leading hitter for the past three seasons with a .440average.
